Vacate Cleaning Tips

Need help with your end-of-lease cleaning?

Just as you are moving on to other accommodation, your property is about to become a new home for new people and so the process now is to prepare the property for its next chapter. This means to leave the rental property just as clean (or cleaner) than when you first entered the tenancy, so referring to your entry condition report is a good idea when completing your vacate clean.

Here are some end-of-lease tips to help you vacate your rental.

Clean in advance:

Organisation is key, allow yourself enough time to clean all aspects of the property rather than leaving to the last minute. You will often find that you forget certain areas, like the range hood, bathroom cabinets or ceiling fans, so leave yourself some extra time to complete these tasks. If you would prefer a professional cleaner, booking in early will ensure that you have someone available to attend to your end-of-lease cleaning as well.

If you have pets:

If pets have been at the property, then a professional flea treatment and professional carpet cleaning will need to be completed prior to the handover of the keys. Also, ensure you keep your receipt for pest treatment and carpet cleaning to show these works have been completed when vacating.

* Blinds (roller, venetian and vertical blinds etc.)

* Windowsills

* Exhaust fans

* Tops of kitchen cabinets/ bedroom wardrobes

* Stove and oven knobs

* Light globes: check if all lights are working and clean
